Meet Nic

Nic is a learning (intellectual) disability sector consultant and researcher. Nic supports individuals and organisations in the learning disability sector, usually with projects or activities that have a research, service development, policy, or learning and development focus. Although Nic is based in Otāutahi Christchurch she can work with you and your team wherever you are, either in person or remotely.

Nic has worked with people with learning disabilities, and those that support them, for more than 25 years. She first trained as a speech-language therapist, and this set the foundation for everything else that has followed. Since then, Nic has also worked as a learning and development advisor, a national clinical advisor, and a project manager, before starting her own consulting business more than a decade ago. It is work that she loves and she cannot imagine doing anything else.

Co-design and collaborative approaches, where Nic can work in partnerships with people with learning disabilities and those who support them, are a strength. In addition, her clinical skills and research experience means that she is robust and thorough, and she takes an evidence-based approach to all that she does.

When not at work you’ll find Nic with her family, walking or spending time outside, cooking up a storm, growing vegetables, or reading quietly in a snuggly space!
